IRCC Elbasan expresses its readiness to assist Syrian refugees on the Albanian border. The first organization to do so. After reading a statement to the country’s highest authorities on the issue of restitution, members of the center unanimously expressed their support for the refugees. Father Stavri Çipi of the Orthodox Church stated that “he certainly joins the initiative”.

The head of the Religious Center Arben Ramkaj stated that “all institutions, the society, and all citizens should engage in contributions as we show our values as Albanians”. He emphasized that “whoever helps a person helps humanity,” the Holy Books say.

Father Emilio of the Church of St. Pius X in Elbasan said that “we have all been pilgrims to this world”. He has therefore invited the state and expressed his willingness as a member of the Interfaith Center to help those whom he regarded as brothers. The president of the church council of St. Pius X Sokol Lulgjuraj stated that “we decided with a unanimous attitude and the religious community is ready to contribute to the accommodation of refugees”. Thus the Interfaith Center in Elbasan once again highlights its values as an institution that embodies peace and brotherhood among people of every religion and civilization.
