January 9, 2017The QBNF executive committee organized on 14 December, 2016, at the Nurses Faculty of the University, †”Our Lady of Good Counsel” in Elbasan, a conversation with students, “Interfaith Dialogue – Opportunities for Recognition and Mutual Respect.”
After a brief introduction to the history of the establishment of the center from its coordinator Mr. Sokol Lulgjuraj, and a reflection summarized the concepts of dialogue in general and religion in particular, held by Don Emilio Valente, the audience continued the conversation for about an hour where students asked different questions, and received replies from the panel of religious leaders of the Muslim, Orthodox, Catholic and Bektashi†communities .
The questions various questions included;
– What†reaction came from your believers or structures in your community for interfaith cooperation?
– What do you mean†with “Peace”?
– How do you see the situation impregnated with different conflicts and which religion should we choose to follow as students?
– What†do you think about “why various terrorist acts occur are more intensified in recent times?
– How do you define†religious freedom?
– How can we cooperate and to engage students with QBNF?
– How have you been†affected and what results has been the collaboration of your everyday life?
– What aresome concrete examples of results from QBNF?
Mufti Agim Duka responded by clarifying some of the questions and †currents of skepticism encountered in his†community, and the zeal with which the were†overcome and how the Islamic community continues to work to understand deeply and specifically the reasons and social benefits of this collaboration and continuous dialogue.
Don Emilio also explained the meaning and the notion of peace in our view.
Mr. Lulgjuraj explained that faith is a virtue of the soul and the individual terrorist acts or various groups do not†represent religion in general or its teachings.
Fr. Stavri commented on religious freedom and its role in development of the country.
The students were†satisfied with replies †from the panel of Father George, Mufti Agim, Don Emilio, †Dervish Ardit, †Father Stavri and coordinator †Mr. Lulgjuraj.
The Chairman Dr. Arben Ramkaj was not in attendance, as he was representing QBNF †in another important national activity.
