Inauguration of the statue of the Blessed Mother Teresa

      On Sunday, December 06, 2015, a representative of the Inter-Religious Collaboration Center of  Elbasan, made by some members of the  committee leaders and several activists of our religious communities, attended the inauguration of the statue of the Blessed Mother Teresa set in town of the Malsia (highland) in Tuz, the Albanian areas in Montenegro.

       The Inter-Religious Committee of Elbasan was invited by the Civic Albanian-American, led by Joe Dioguardi, by the chairman of the branch of Michigan, Mr. Marash Nucullaj, who is the donor of the statue and also co-host of all activities and ceremonies, in this case, honoring  this great figure of our nation and all mankind.

        The Inter-Religious Committee of our Center was invited and was introduced precisely to honor Mother Teresa and organizers to convey in this area the IRCC’s motto; “The trust – A bridge that unites us.” After the discovery of the statue by the president of the Malsi’s council Mr. Zef Camaj and Mr. Marash Nucullaj were invited on to salute; Hajj Dervish Ardit Selmani, committee IRCC member as representative of Bektashi religion, Don Emilio Valente, vice president of the IRCC as representativ of the Catholic Church and Imam Ergys Muzhaqi, delivering brotherhood and cooperation messages, so much needed in times today especially for Albanians everywhere, in our lands within and outside national borders.

       Further Mr. Nucullaj praised the figure of Mother Teresa as a model and symbol of our nation as well as thanked the guests from Elbasan to the contribution in their city as well as expressed gratitude for the presence at this historical ceremony for Albanians across the border, because is the first statue of Mother Teresa placed on those lands. After the inauguration ceremony was held a festive dinner in honor of the attendees.

        Chairman of the organizing committee, Mr. Nikoll Berisha and all the speakers expressed consideration and appreciated our presence and example there. Member of Committee and coordinator of IRCC mr. Sokol Lulgjuraj, made a greeting on behalf of the Committee presenting the work of our center both in terms of interfaith dialogue and cooperation for the benefit of society. The group was divided between a fraternal atmosphere and numerous invitations to be still present in other events as well as in the Diaspora and Malsi.
